About Seconds

Although irregularities are a natural by-product of the building and firing process, some instruments have flaws or areas that have been patched or repaired. The most common is a glaze separation or a non-structural crack. If the instrument's sound and strength is not compromised, I will patch it with a material such as expoxy putty. These instruments are labeled as seconds, and are available at a reduced price. The playability and sound of the seconds are in no way compromised or reduced. If it were, I would throw them away and not sell them. My highest priority is sound quality and playability. The seconds I currently have available are listed in each section below, and all seconds are also listed in the "Other Instruments" category.
